NEW VINTAGE! Another 15th generation winemaker, Sebastien David manages his 15-hectare estate in Saint-Nicolas-de-Bourgueil, where the David family has been making wine, always from Cabernet Franc, since 1634. 'Hurluberlu' roughly translates as “eccentric man who looks at stars to farm” – and Sebastien is that crazy man who follows biodynamic practices (many involving the moon) and works super naturally, with no additions (not even SO2), and no fining/filtering. Working with whole clusters, he ferments with wild yeasts, employing carbonic maceration for 25 days, followed by a light pressing by foliage (by foot) to preserve the fruit’s characteristics and minimize tannins. This is a vibrant, personality-filled wine with pure fruit, plum, baking spice, pine, a spicy finish and lots of cheer - the perfect chillable red for the festive season. Drink now, slightly chilled, with great abandon - it's so clean, an extra glass or two won't hurt.
