2025 Field Recordings Pizza Nights 2.0
2025 Field Recordings Pizza Nights 2.0
Region: Happy Canyon < Santa Barbara < California
Grapes: Barbera
Vineyard/cellar stats: Organic farming; 1/3 of the grapes are left whole-cluster and the rest are de-stemmed. Fermentation takes place in open-top bins with native yeasts only, punch-downs twice a day. The wine is pressed to neutral oak barrels for 6 months of aging before bottling with a light filtration and minimal addition of SO2; 12.5% ABV
- Field Recordings is a small natural project from Andrew Jones, a vine nursery fieldman planning and planting vineyards for farmers all over California - who often is offered small lots of their best fruit on the side
- Slightly dusty Bing cherries and raspberries with a touch of rose petals.
- Barbera at 12.5%, with enough acidity to cut a marinara pie
- The origin story, from the winery:“Your neighborhood pizza joint is truly the perfect slice of Americana: A warm, welcoming environment of friends and families appreciating life over a bowl of meatballs, a few pizzas, and a couple salads. Life is good and you appreciate the moment. This collaboration was crafted and conceptualized with our friends at Talula’s Pizza in Asbury Park, New Jersey, over a few of their signature sourdough pies, a couple of mozzarella sticks, and a nice chilled glass of vino.”
