Vineyard/Cellar Stats: Organic farming, on traditional flysch soils where the characteristic Collio region meets the first gravels of Friuli's plains; field blend, skin contact maceration for 90 days providing extraction of color, aroma and phenolic compounds. Grapes are destemmed and transferred to stainless steel vats, bottled unfined/unfiltered with minimal added SO2; 13% ABV

Borgo Savaian di Bastiani Stefano is a family winery, led by Nicola Biasi, with 44 acres. Located near the foothills of Colli Goriziani (3 miles west of Slovenia), the estate is a family affair with the younger generation inspired to take over for their parents after enjoying a bottle of Friulano in the family vineyard as a teen. This is Italy after all. The family focuses on farming indigenous varieties and is committed to a natural lifestyle that is in harmony with its surroundings.
