Rafa Bernabé Aguilar transcends the role of a mere winemaker; he is a fervent advocate for the authenticity and character that emanate from the sun-kissed lands of Alicante, Spain. In the year 2000, determined to make a mark, he breathed life into Casa Balaguer, a winery that would become the nexus for a crusade to propel the wines of the Alicante region to unprecedented levels of excellence. This mission, since 2017, has been carried forward by Marta Ribera and the family of the winery Vinessens, who consequently present us with a portfolio of wines crafted with minimal intervention and the utmost authenticity. These wines are produced using indigenous varietals from ancient vines and are aged in a diverse array of vessels including steel, wood, concrete, and clay, all to preserve the very essence of the terroir.
