Growing up, Leon's family didn't have vineyards, but his neighbors did, and he was intrigued by the vines, a fascination that eventually led him to work at a biodynamic winery whose mode of agriculture shaped him, amplifying his desire to make wine. After studying Viticulture and Oenology in Weinsberg, Leon came back to his "adopted home,” the Remstal (wine region in Germany) to start his own estate.
Knowing the importance of biological cycles and moon phases, Leon chooses to support the wild balance in the vineyard, forgoing synthetic agents and instead using specially prepared compost -- all of this is pretty rare in his region, which makes this wine even more special. Tart and zippy, this pet'nat of Trollinger is blindingly fresh glou glou juice that tastes like spring in a bottle. Bursting with pink grapefruit, underripe strawberries, cherries and rose petal, with a big hit of minerality on the finish, this pink fizz is THE BOMB! Total liquid gold, Pink Gold even, you should snap up as much as you can. We got the last 3 cases in CA, and it won't last long....
