2018 Tre Monti Dalbana Metodo Ancestrale
2018 Tre Monti Dalbana Metodo Ancestrale
Region: Colli d’Imola < Emilia-Romagna < Italy
Grapes: Albana
Vineyard/Cellar Stats: Organic farming w/ use of biodynamic practices; clay-centric soils; ancestral method with time on skins in stainless steel, then second fermentation in bottle; unfined/unfiltered with minimal added SO2; 11% ABV
Winemaker: Vittorio Navacchia
Azienda Agrícola Tre Monti was started in the early 1960s by Sergio Navacchia and his wife Thea, who was the real driving force behind the winery until her death in 1989. Sons Vittorio and David now run the show, with the help of their father. The grapes for this unique bubbly come from a single vineyard in the bucolic hills of Imola, near Modena in Italy’s Emilia-Romagna region. Glowing and golden, with super fine, almost transparent, bubbles, and a symphony of fruit and flowers: juicy, ripe peaches, wild flowers, melon.
This is your all-purpose house bubbly for spring sipping and (eventually) party hopping – a much more interesting, a vastly cleaner (than most) Prosecco option. And no need to get the flutes out for this baby. Serve like the Italians do, in a regular wine glass, or even a tumbler, for an afternoon aperitivo.
