Region: Conca de Barberà< Catalonia< Spain
Grapes: Parellada
Vineyard/Cellar Stats: Organic farming, old vines on high elevation
Winemakers: Mariona Vendrell & Albert Canela
This old-vine Parellada (a grape generally only used in the blend for
Cava, Spain's sparkling wine) from two 20-something winemakers in
Spain's high-altitude Conca de Barbera region is what we call
delicious water - super light, highly drinkable white wines best
consumed during daylight hours. This one - so light it's almost
clear, with bright lemon-lime and green apple on the palate, texture
and structure (from 12 hours of skin contact) and crazy minerality
(limestone soils) - goes down dangerously easy. It's park wine, beach
wine, wine meant for day drinking. Lucky for us it's squeaky clean,
so it won't hurt too bad if we overindulge a teensy bit....
