Vineyard/Cellar Stats: Certified organic farming, sand & clay over mica-schist soils; 7-10 days carbonic maceration, aged in tank; only one racking is carried out after malolactic fermentation; bottled unfined and unfiltered w/ 15ppm So2; 12% ABV

Unicorn carbonic chillable red from the staunchly white wine Muscadet region!

Founded in the 1930’s, Jean-Pierre’s organically farmed estate is in the Cotes de Grandlieu sub-zone of Muscadet, near the mouth of the Loire as it joins the Atlantic. We love their super salty classic Muscadet, but this light, crunchy red was a surprise hit. 

Peppery with tart, stemmy red fruit and black cherries, soft tannins and a nice acid backbone, this is Loire Gamay through and through - greener, spicier and more savory than it's Beaujolais cousin, it makes an amazing food partner.  Super affordable and versatile, this is the wintery light red that will take you from grilled cheese to BBQ to late night jam session.  Easy and delicious, especially with the slightest chill.  Try with a slight chill and tacos -- it's a killer combo!
