Catalonian young gun Francesc Ferre (he’s just 29) makes a tiny bit of kick-ass wines in the heart of Terra Alta, like this gorgeous Garnacha Blanca. Two harvests are performed – one at lower potential alcohol to contribute to crunchier, cooler acidity, and the second at higher ripeness with more phenolic development – fermented separately, then blended and raised in stainless steel. The result? Zesty stone fruits and lusty passion fruit, a hint of white pepper, and gorgeous peach blossom aromatics.
