Winter is often not when most people turn to rosé, but we’re firm believers that rosé has a place year-round. People, it’s time to stop relegating rosé to sunny days! Find yourself a winter version, like this substantial one from the Nada family, made from Nebbiolo – and Nebbiolo from Barbaresco at that. That Giuseppe’s son and winemaker, Enrico, devotes some of these world-famous grapes to rosé is evidence that he was aiming higher than poolside pink. There is a feminine side – perfumey, floral and dried cherry notes on the nose, and a masculine side – herbal, earthy notes with a touch of tannin. It takes talent to meld those contrasting elements into a harmonious whole, and Enrico nailed it. A delicious winter sipper, also amazing with an astonishing array of food, even meat. Pinkie promise.
