2013 Orsi San Vito Pignoletto Classico ‘Vigna del Grotto’

This Pignoletto, a varietal native to the Emilia-Romagna region, is from a small 50-year-old vineyard, biodynamic, unirrigated, and completely unadulterated, that sits next to a brook (one that is full of pelicans, hence the cute pelican on the label) overlooking the hills of Bologna. It’s a full-bodied wine, with a supple texture, some melon, white peach, lime and honey. Throw in the slightly cloudy gold color (because it is unfiltered), and you’ve got summer in a glass.
