In the 1950’s, the Guion family established their farm in the heart of the Bourgueil appellation, on the banks of the Loire River. From the beginning they grew grapes, raised animals and planted all the crops they needed to live entirely off their land. By 1965, they were farming organically, with a holistic understanding of its effects far ahead of their time. This, their top cuvee, is classic, rustic cab franc that spends 12 months in neutral barrel to age. It is focused and lively, with fresh acidity and minerals, and an addictive purity that makes it hard to put down your glass. A fantastic table wine, that is light enough to pair with a tomato-based fish stew (a surprisingly great pairing), but works with your bigger meat dishes and BBQ.
