Winemaker: Matt + Alexis Iaconis

We're big fans of Matt + Alexis work at Brick & Mortar, a tiny project
they started in 2011 in Napa.  Matt, a native Californian, went to UC
Davis to play football and study Atmospheric Science (he wanted to be
an astronaut).  But an intro course on winemaking changed everything
for him. After college, he worked at wineries here and abroad,
eventually working with the Antinori family in Napa Valley – a
connection that enabled him to get the organic fruit he needed to make
his own wine.  They started working with Napa Valley vineyards, and
have since started sourcing from pristine vineyard sites around the
Bay.

Like the certified organic vineyard in the very cool climate Anderson
Valley, from which this pretty Chardonnay hails.  It’s textured and
structured, a perfect reflection of the unique terroir that is
Anderson Valley.  Flinty and shiny, with zesty lemon, crushed sea
shells and golden apple flavors, all swept away in a wave of bright
acidity.  Friends, if you're looking for a clean Cali Chardonnay swap
that won't break the bank, this one's for you!
