2020 Martha Stoumen Solo Act

2020 Martha Stoumen Solo Act

Region: Contra Costa County < California
Grapes: 53% Marsanne, 40% Roussanne, 7% Muscat blanc
Vineyard/Cellar Stats: Certified organic farming; sandy clay soils; all grapes harvested together and briefly tumbled in the press for just a hint of skin contact before pressing, then fermented on full lees in stainless steel. After 6 months, the fully dry wine was racked off lees to neutral oak barrique to continue aging for an additional 12 months before bottling. Unfined, unfiltered; 10 PPM SO2 added at bottling only, 11% alcohol
  • Woman winemaker + owner, Martha Stoumen!
  • Grapes all grow together at the certified organic Urban Edge Farm in Contra Costa County
  • Same base grapes as her Post Flirtation White, but here Martha lets the co-ferment shine on its own rather than blending, thus providing the wine its own stage — a solo act!
  • Salty, umami notes on a pithy grapefruit/citrus oil canvas
  • Amazing sushi wine!
  • Martha says: "this is a wine that I love to pair with food and consider what else around me shines when brought into focus!"
