A different take on domestic Sauvignon Blanc from Jordan Kivelstadt, an awesome young dude who also founded the company FreeFlow (wine on tap). He is seeking to challenge the status quo of traditional California wine style by working towards a fresher, cleaner style with no additives and minimal SO2 for his entire production, which totals about 3500 cases annually and six different wines now. He’s been working with Indian Springs Ranch near Kenwood for his SB since 2010. The juice is fermented in 50% neutral French oak barrels and 50% stainless steel tank, and the wine in the barrel is left on the lees. The result is a slightly rounder, creamier, more complex style, a bit floral, some stone fruit, and a distinct minerality.
