We are loving the 1liter wine bloom in Europe and hope it never ends… because a .75 bottle of wine is really never enough! SFERA is an incredible collaboration of like-minded small organic growers who bottle their limited-run wines in 1 liter crown-cap editions. As a co-ferment, SFERA boasts exciting varietals - this year’s edition featuring Uva Rara, Barbera, Croatina, Pinot Nero and Riesling Renano. Just like the grapes each do their part, the farmers are always credited on the back label with their winery name and province. Although the mood is fun and the concept ‘more is more’, this is serious natural juice.
This wine is produced by the Frecciarossa estate, farmed organically by the Odero family in Oltrepo Pavese, a clan that has been making wine for the last hundred years -- and today is helmed by granddaughter Valeria Radici Odero. Low alcohol and low sulfur combine to forecast a high potential for chugging, we recommend giving this wine a slight chill before enjoying it. Ripe strawberry, red apple & candied red fruit flavors are tamed by a gentle dryness and complexity. We’re loving the texture that unfining and unfiltering bring to this bottle, not to mention the fantastic packaging and the fact that it comes from a woman winemaker.
